Tubing Retrievable Downhole Safety Valves provide well control in the event of a compromised wellhead. Full bore flow ensures production is not restricted by the safety valve. Dramatic advances in tubing retrievable downhole safety valve technology provide a safety system that outlasts wireline retrievables after completion. Downhole safety valves are typically installed about 100 feet (30m) or more below the mudline.
Tubing retrievable downhole safety valves provide unmatched protection from low-end standard applications to high pressure/high temperature applications. With this safety valve, you can be assured of superior performance, reliability and long life in operating environments with operating pressures of 7,500 psi and temperatures from 20 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tubing retrievable downhole safety valves are controlled from the surface through a small diameter hydraulic control line connected to the emergency shut-off system. Because the valve is a normally closed valve, when the pressure in the hydraulic control line falls below the safety valve shut-off pressure, the downhole safety valve returns to the closed state, thereby shutting in the well.
